I’m Daniel Thiel. I spent more than twenty years in fashion retail, in leadership roles across Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Milan. Working with labels including Giorgio Armani, Etro and Windsor sharpened my eye for cut, texture and proportion. It also taught me how much the space around an object changes the way we see it.
01 / Wiesbaden · 2018
In August 2018, I opened my first store on Wiesbaden’s Wilhelmstraße. I wanted it to feel like somewhere I would invite someone in, with time to look around and talk. I developed the window displays myself, from the first sketch and material choices to the finished installation. Over time, Home & Living became part of the store. In 2025, I added a small pâtisserie, giving guests another reason to stay a little longer.

With Maison Thiel, I could bring the same attention to materials and atmosphere to a whole house. I used black stone to ground the kitchen, sculptural pendants to give the dining table its own presence, and woven fabrics to soften the concrete. That is the work I want to share through the studio: helping people make choices that feel right together and suit the way they live.

03 / Studio sketchbook
I start with the things you can touch. The grain of wood, a woven fabric, the edge of a tile. In Noordhoek, those samples helped me decide how much warmth the concrete rooms needed and where darker finishes could give them depth.
Retail design · Wiesbaden
I develop window concepts from the first sketch to the installation. I work with colour, materials, lighting and the placement of each piece to give people a reason to stop and look.
The Wiesbaden Concept Store is also available for selected collaborations. I work with fashion and Home & Living brands on window takeovers, product launches and showroom presentations. Together we can test how a collection or a new retail concept feels in a working store.
